It's great to go away, and it's nice to come back! After nearly a month and a half abroad, I was greeted by comparatively cool weather in Singapore after Japan's recent record highs. Many uncle and aunty friends at my local market welcomed me back, although they still seem puzzled as to why I was away for so long!

Behind every large project, there is a large team...and I'd like to thank my friends, family, supporters and kind sponsors who made my art residency possible. I came up with the idea to try crowd-funding after I was accepted into the MI-LAB Artist in Residency program, and I was pleased and grateful to be able to meet my financial goal through the generosity of over 60 international sponsors.

I'm now back in my studio in Singapore, where I'm about to start the process of creating artwork that I pledged to make for many of my sponsors. I look forward to working with ideas that germinated in Japan. The different processes and techniques that I was able to pick up have opened up new ways of thinking with me, and I'm very excited to be embark on what feels like a new chapter. Hope you enjoy some of the photos I took during my time away!
